History
The Pentecostal City Mission Church Inc. is very proud of its first foreign mission field that was established and pioneered by its cofounder, the late Bishop Mary Louise Core in March 1939.
It was with obedience and under the unction of the Holy Spirit the Late Bishop Mary Louise Coore and other anointed missionaries came to Belize with the first message, “Woe to the City.” Street Meetings was being held from street to street as they preached the gospel of Jesus Christ and the message of repentance. This was all new for the people of Belize for they had never seen the power of the Holy Ghost being manifested in such manner. The sick was being healed,
people were falling to the ground and it was evident that God had visited the people of Belize. With these manifestations came large crowd which grew larger and larger each night as the dynamic women of God preached the gospel.
The City Mission Movement has withstood it test of times. Many Missionaries and Evangelist have labored in this beautiful vineyard, the Late Bishop Delrose Lucille Walters, Bishop Ethel Wilson, Bishop Balzille Elaine Jones, Revereend Ruth Barton, Light Brigade Cecil Chang and Light Brigade Godoy just to name a few.
Despite the many different challenges and exodus of missionary and brethren over a period of time the work decline and was at a disheartening state. In the year 2000, Reverend Ethlyn Clarke (then Light-Brigade) sent by God immediately continued were the missionaries left off and began to slowly build the work of God both temporally and spiritually. After Reverend Clarke’s departure, Reverend Janette Randall was then commission to further uplift the work. The work progressed whereby for the very first time in Belize’s church history, 4 persons were commissioned and ordained by Belize’s Regional Bishop, Bishop Dr. Ruby Joy Patterson on March 13 th 2018.
The Mission is now spear headed by its own visionary leaders Reverend Kenrick Chang and Assistant Pastors, Reverend Richard and Deaconess Zelia Malic. History was made again when for the first time in 80 years PCMC Belize gave birth to another church 59 miles out of city limits. On the 30 th of June 2019 there was an official Church opening in the Unitedville Village, Cayo District, performed by Our General Overseer Bishop Dr. Donald Maxwell and First Lady Reverend Maxwell. To God be the Glory for the great things He had done… He has given the Pentecostal City Mission Church the keys to the City….
It is of great significant and noteworthy to mention, that it was while Bishop Delorse Walters was on a Mission trip in Belize she saw a multitude of Children and right then and there was inspired to launch the Ministry of the Young People’s Group YPG in the year 1946. The Young People’s Group is still one of the strongest points of the church with over 30 plus active Youth members.
